Kara is a lifelong learner, striving to broaden her mind and heart to new experiences that she can translate to the youth of Temple Israel.  She has a passion for the arts and the spirituality that Judaism brings to her life.  In addition to the Youth Director responsibilities, Kara is also a teacher in the Torah Center, a presenter in the Joys of Jewish Learning program, and has worked many years as leadership staff for the National Federation of Temple Youth.  Kara has a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University Long Beach in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Geography.  In 2015, Kara decided to further her education at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion, earning The Certificate in Jewish Education Specializing in Adolescents and Emerging Adults.  Kara strives to provide the students she works with a diverse, spiritual and accepting environment to further their growth and development.
