Movie Discussion: Crossing Delancey
- Date: Saturday, June 3, 2023
- Time: 7:00pm–8:30pm
We conclude this look at a century of Jewish life in American film with a romance set in New York in the late 1980s. Isabelle Grossman, a modern, intellectual 30-something contrasts with her beloved Bubbe’s more traditional take on life and love. Amy Irving was nominated for a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Isabelle.
We’ll be looking at four films this year that represent several aspects of what it means to be Jewish in America during the past 100+ years. Please watch the film ahead of time and come to the program ready to join in the conversation.
